On 5 October 2021, the European Parliament decided on the setting up of the standing delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly (D-UK).

The EU-UK Parliamentary Assembly shall include 35 members each from the European Parliament (16 from the S&D Group) and the UK parliament (70 in total).

The D-UK was set up following the entry into force of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). Article 11 of the Agreement provides for the possible establishment of an EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly composed of Members of the European Parliament and of Members of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

The delegation will be informed of the EU-UK Partnership Council’s decisions and make recommendations to it.
